Married But Spouse Not Into
For those who are into nudism but spouse is not.
Nudist wife and non-nudist husband
Return to DiscussionsI am curious to know if I am the only wife whose husband is not into it at all. I read a lot about the men who are nudists but whose wives don't take part. My experience is the other way around. My husband is accepting me wanting to be nude at home and in our (mostly private) garden, but is determined not to join me. I have yet to brooch the subject of me being nude at a club or a beach.
Are there any other wives who are in the same positions as me, please?
Ann

I see it like ballroom dancing, where you get 'pairs' who's spouses do not participate. The dancing pair live the joy ballroom dancing brings them without having a sexual relationship and the spouses never attend.
My wife is resolute about not attending a CO beach or facility but knows I go and socialise with women....
A couple came to Gunnison and set up near me. She stripped immediately and he left on long board shorts. We got talking and I found out that they were dating and she just asked him if he wanted to go to the beach without telling him that it was clothing optional. She had been there before, he had never been to a clothing optional beach. He did eventually drop his shorts .
Good for her. That man would have been out of his mind to not join her.
I only discovered naturism/nudism in my late 50s and early 60s. Tom.Tom. Its funny you say this. When I was getting ready for my first nude 5k race my wife asked me, "Why don't you just do a normal race? Don't you want to wait until you retired or in your 50s or 60s like other people to do something like this?"The year I did my first race was following 3 major deaths in our family. I decided after the third unexpected loss that we don't have much time and I don't want to die with wondering what it would have been like to try something. My wife has been to one nude resort with me she stayed clothed. We are going back in March but I don't know if it out of curiosity to know more or just faithfulness to see me run lol. We will see either way its one baby step forward.Adam
I dabbled in nudism earlier, but also didn't get seriously into it until I was in my 50's.
I think there are several reasons why nudism is more common later in life.
For men, older ones remember when casual male only nudity was common.
Also, somw people are not comfortable being nude around children, even their own, I remember a friend of mine said he was talking one on one with his son's high school counselor and said he didn't know how he would like being an empty nester after having a child in the house for over 20 years. the counselor told him that on the plus side, he could be naked at home. any time he wanted to. Another friend mentioned that shortly after his youngest left for college a neighbor of his asked if he had started doing his chores nude yet,
Huh very interesting. I grew up with conflicting parental mindsets. On one hand my mom would say something like clothes are pointless then on the other hand it would be "you have to have clothes on around the house." My folks would often hint at being clothes free and then demand that anyone seeing you naked is an awful thing. It was weird. So I sometimes wonder if they ever prance around doing naked chores lol.
I plan to remain open in my household. Normalizing a clothing optional environment, respect for others and dignity for each other.

One of my close friends in high school had a pool where we would swim home when his parents were away.
He said that his parents rarely swam when he was home, but when he called home when he was traveling they often mentioned having been in the pool. He asked his father why they swam more when he was away, and hid father said that when he wasn't home, they swam nude.
Not nude but close. As I mentioned earlier, my mother insisted than men should always wear pajamas in bed and never leave the bedroom without wearing a shirt. When my mother got into her 80's she had difficulty climbing up stairs and we set up a bedroom for her in the former den. A few times when I stayed there in the upstairs bedroom, my father would sleep and make his bathroom trips in just boxers.
