- Now I need to take my certification photos. I will use a tripod and aim for a better quality image. I still have some of my summer tan.

Who I'd like to meet
I'm looking for new friends who would also be willing to be partners; I would like to get to know as much about you as i can: I think every guy his his own unique, interesting story to tell. Ultimately I hope to find the guy with whom I will form a long-term relationship. I am fairly omnivorous as to age, race, ethnic or religious background and body type (I swim 3 or more times a week and prefer leaner or more muscular guys than I am; obese or effeminate guys: please don't contact me).
My Interests
I spend a lot of time in my garden, working with various colorful perennials, sometimes lying au naturel on my deck (shielded from public view by a dense screen of lush tropical plants). In the colder months, I work inside with my collection of orchids in my greenhouse. When some of the orchids bloom, they release a delightful fragrance, another way to enjoy them. I also sing 2nd bass in the local Unitarian Universalist choir (BTW, the UU church welcomes GLBTQ folks), enjoy composing and sending interesting--but perhaps overly wordy--emails to my friends, Facebook, volunteer on several environmentally related projects, such as chairing our local Thurston Nature Center for about 5 years; I am just stepping down from my homeowners association board; continue to serve as member of advisory committee to the City of Ann Arbor for developing a new Urban Forest Management Plan and the Millers Creek Action Team.
Movies
I like escapist movies in 3D and on jumbo screens, like 'Thor' which was great fun.
Music
All kinds of music but especially vocal music (choral, sacred music, black gospel, opera, American and British folk music, Latin, Afro-Pop, rock, bluegrass, some country and western and many classical instrumental pieces, especially piano, cello, and violin pieces. I also like to sing along with my cds when driving; it makes the miles fly by.
My Heroes
Charles Darwin; E.O. Wilson; Niko Tinbergen; Konrad Lorenz; Robert MacArthur; Theodosius Dobzhansky; Verdi, Puccini, Mozart, Rembrandt; Andrew Wyeth; Walt Disney; Thomas Edison, Richard V. Foster MD, Richard W. Foster, (my father and older brother, both deceased), William T. Innes, Edwin Way Teale; Itzak Perlman, Luciano Pavarroti, Lang Lang, Ludwig von Beethoven; F. Schubert, R. Schumann, Andre Segovia, James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Leo Kottke and on and on. I have many, many personal heroes, including many teachers, camp counselors, and professors.
