Acceptance

I have been enjoying the clothes free lifestyle for 36 years now. As a resident in Connecticut, my options are very limited here, and as of late try to spend as much time up in Vermont where it isnt frowned upon as much as in other areas local to me. i am very close to just giving up on tryin to find friends in the lifestyle, and/or a female partner. i go to events, participate, swap contact info with other fellow nudists, yet i am always the one chasing people. never does anyone actually reach out to me to make a plan, get together, meet up at any given time. i watch for posts here and when local events in my wheelhouse get planned, i make the effort to attend if possible. to me, in my experience, and opinion, if im not part of a m/f couple, or m/m couple, or gay or bi, i am not worthy of social settings. so basically ,in my area of the united states it seems, being a single, straight male is taboo, and frowned upon. the local resorts to me in CT and RI have made me feel welcome when initially taking my entrance fee, but once inside and mingling with others, i am made to feel very uncomfortable once others realize i am there solo. And not gay i may add. I am almost ,not quite, but almost at the point where i am ready to just give up on the clothing optional/nudist lifestyle in general. Unless i see some sort of effort on others in the lifestyle, in 2026 and beyond, i feel i am done. So to the ones that welcome people like me to group events to chest thump the numbers of people attending said events... takes more than events a couple times a year to make others in the lifestyle feel welcome. We are not just a statistic to add to your event attendance total. If anyone wishes to discuss this in person further with me... i will be attending WBNR/WALK and summer solstice nude hiking day 2026 and any other events/hikes i see posted i can physically attend if the sun/moon/stars align.

RE:Acceptance

Well, I am glad we crossed paths this summer in Vermont. Lone, straight males indeed have a tough time connecting with others - I have lots of experience with this. This is why I will take whatever opportunities I have and just go for a walk, preferably in Vermont where, at least in most parts of the state, you won't get arrested and likely won't receive negative comments.
For me, it's about the freedom and comfort of being naked. I prefer to join others but will go for a hike or a swim alone if no one else responds to an opportunity to join me. I am a nudist because I enjoy doing everything in my life without clothing, not because I must the social contact, even if it's my preference. It is about the freedom and comfort first.
Hope we have the opportunity to connect again for another outing (or a dozen).

Agreed! I also enjoyed our small group hike and look forward to more! I look at it as any opportunity to be baked outdoors is great , better than none . Yes I have felt the same negative vibe at many though not all nudist resorts when the fact Im solo seems isolating. Hope to see you again in warmer weather!

RE:Acceptance

totally agree. i already have feelers out to Airbnb hosts asking if their rentals are nudist /clothing optional friendly before i book for this coming season. im looking to attend WNBR/WALK in june as well as nude hiking day also in june. also looking to spend june 27th through july 5th in the northern tier of Vermont in 2 different locations, split on opposite sides of the state to explore areas i have not explored yet. hopefully clothing optional spots as well like Lake Willoughby, of which last year i did an 8 mile hike overlooking the lake totally nude and it was awesome! I have all the maps and again, in the planning stages currently as rentals fill up fast. keep in touch, and i will keep you posted if your able to visit up there at some point. or when it warms up and if you wish to get together for a hike some day.

RE:Acceptance

Thanks, Jim, and happy new(d) year to you also.

Let's all stay in touch and keep an eye on Otis's freehiking group. I'd like to get up to the northern part of Vermont in early July and hope to join the solstice hike again, depending on the day. I'll try to organize a hike or more in the southern tier of the state; still interested in picking off sections of the Long Trail.

Happy New Year to you both as well. Like i said lake Willoughby has a nude beach and i hiked there nude last 4th of july week, planning on going back again this summer. solstice hike is june 20 or 21st and Wnbr/walk is 2nd saturday in june. like i said, i am planning on renting an Airbnb up in those areas so you are welcome to overnight with me if need be. there is usually multiple beds or a couch to crash overnight on to rest up for the journey back home. multiple options available to plan around. keep in touch

RE:Acceptance

Takearulertoit, I really hope you dont give up the nudist lifestyle and I sympathise that you feel badly treated,

I think there is something you are missing.

Generally ,couple dont want to spend time with solo males.

Let me explain, when Lorna and I got together, we holidayed all over Europe, and North Africa, lots of countries and cultures. These were textile holidays and the one thing you almost never see at a textile resort or beach is a solo male. In over 12 years we only met one solo male, and he was only there by himself because his wife was too busy with work. To be honest it was only because we were part of a larger group that we socialise with him at all. If it was just the two of us, it would just have been a polite hello.

Even in every day life, the things we do as a couple, solo males dont.

It was only when we started visiting nude beaches and later resorts that we even noticed solo males.

We dont have any problem with solo males, chatted to dozens over the years, if people are polite and respectful thats how we will treat them too, but just because we are all naked it doesnt change that couple generally only want to hang out with other couples.

Sorry, but thats just how it is .

I think accepting that will make you happier.

One other thing, your name, just wondering .what you are asking us to measure?
